Fully Involved Chicken House Fire - 11539 Saint Martins Neck Rd.

At 18:44 hours on December 18th Bishopville, Ocean City, Showell, and Selbyville were alerted for a chicken house fire at 11539 Saint Martins Neck Rd. Hurst were currently training with the members on hydraulic tools for the new Rescue/Engine at Station 1. Units responded immediately after the dispatch. Engine/Tanker 907 was first on scene advising a chicken house fully involved. Due to the information Assistant Chief Rogers requested the commercial box filled for the alarm bringing additional tankers from Roxana and Berlin. Arriving on scene units found a chicken house fully involved that was used for storage containing a old truck, and hunting equipment. Offensive operations were carried out throughout the incident. Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating the fire, it is known there was an extension cord in use for Christmas lights coming out of the chicken house. Thank you to all the agencies who assisted in the incident.
